 If we ever see a GW Bush it should be specialized as a funeral
 ship.

 The above is why I beleive no Naval Vessel should be named after
 any person until that person has been dead at least 25 years.
 The only exception would be for a vessel built during wartime to
 honor a service person killed in battle. And then the death
 would have to be truly significant.

 Any ship named after any politician less than 25 years after his
 death should be renamed after a naval hero. Any ship named after
 a living politician should take first priority in renaming.

 Oh, and probably the party of the politician that got that ship
 named for him should be billed for the operating expenses of
 that ship for that time as a political expenditure.

 Would any of the last few aircraft carriers even have been built
 if not for the political advantages?

 Ultimately I would say naval vessels should be named for Naval
 heroes, not politicians. The greatest politician is not a hero.
