Under normal conditions, I'd say let Dan Blather sue, let he and CBS scream at 
each other.

But Brent Bozell is a hack.
He's a right-wing apologist for any "conservative" out there, and got his ass 
sued off by a pro wrestling group.

--L. Brent Bozell resigned as president of the PTC on Friday. He said running 
the company has become too much for him, combined with having a large family. 
That sounds like he had to resign. Bozell, many years ago, targeted WWF 
Smackdown for being the worst show on television and attempted, and was 
successful in some cases, in getting advertisers to pull out of the show, and 
led to WWF publicly stating it would tone down the product. However, Bozell was

far too vigilant, and stated numerous things that weren't true, including 
taking credit for sponsors leaving that he had nothing to do with. Eventually, 
WWF sued him for slander, and must have had a strong enough case, because the 
PTC settled out of court for several million dollars.

He also has a tendency for himself and his group, to simply make stuff up.

Taking a page from its Ann Coulter defense playbook, a Sept. 27 Media Research 
Center press release reports that Brent Bozell "is calling upon CBS and CNN to 
distance themselves from left-wing hate groups and apologize to Bill O’Reilly 
for their participation in the smear campaign against him, " further 
referencing "dishonest, far-left, hatemongering organizations such as Media 
Matters."

So, if Media Matters (my employer) is a "left-wing hate group," doesn't that 
make the MRC a right-wing hate group?

(Oh, and Bozell falsely claims that Media Matters is "funded by ultra-leftist 
billionaire George Soros." Doesn't anyone at the MRC do any actual research?)

CBS Hired Investigator Who Confirmed RATHER/MAPES-Bush Draft Dodging Report- 
Was Authentic & Accurate

Rather believed that the panel would conduct a fair-minded inquiry. But he 
learned that neither he nor Mapes would be allowed to cross-examine witnesses. 
They heard from some researchers on the "60 Minutes II" staff that before they 
had been questioned, a CBS executive had told them that they should feel free 
to pin all blame on Rather and Mapes. CBS had told Rather to cease 
investigating the story and had even hired a private investigator of its own, 
Erik Rigler. Rather and Mapes discovered that Rigler's investigation had 
uncovered corroboration for their story. Rather's complaint states that "after 
following all the leads given to him by Ms. Mapes, he (Rigler) was of the 
opinion that the Killian Documents were most likely authentic, and that the 
underlying story was certainly accurate." But rather than probing Rigler on his

findings, the panel, to the extent its lawyers questioned him in a single 
telephone call, "appeared more interested whether Mr. Rigler had uncovered 
derogatory information concerning Mr. Rather or Ms. Mapes, as to which he had 
no information," according to the Rather complaint. Rigler's report was 
suppressed, never presented to the panel, and remains suppressed by CBS. Nor 
did the panel fully question James Pierce, the handwriting expert consulted by 
"60 Minutes" who insisted that the signature on the documents was surely 
Killian's.
