Condoleeza Rice, among other politicians (including Democrats and Republicans)
apparently thinks Israeli Jews are (and some try to prove her right.)  She and
the Bush Administration, like the Clintion Administration before them, insist
on Israel granting statehood to the Palestinians, despite the fact that
Palestinians have yet to do anything indicating they want to live in peace with
Israel.  Israel has given up land for peace (which hasn't stopped Egypt from
promoting anti-Israel and anti-Jewish ideology in their media and schools, just
as other Arab countries do), and was "rewarded" for leaving Gaza with more
rockets and a Hamas-led government.

Correct.  Besides, if you have a candidate swearing an oath, wouldn't you have
more confidence if he chose to swear on the holy book of his faith, not the
holy book of another faith?

I wonder how many Jewish politicians take their oath of office on a Christian
Bible, only part of which they consider holy?  The word "Bible" means two
different things to Jews and Christians - the Christian Bible includes the Old
and New Testaments, the Jewish Bible only the OT.

Yes, they do.

Jews have rarely been safe anywhere, because they weren't usually tolerated.

The ADL knows the history of Jews in countries that mixed government and
religion, and it isn't pretty.  The "Christ-killers" were not treated well in
Christian countries, and were, like Christians, "dhimmis" with fewer rights and
protections in Muslim countries.
