WOuld agree with this point.  A lot of those that were aborted would have been
otherwise abused or neglected.  The difference, the mother or other responsible
parties knew that bringing this life to fruition was extremely irresponsible at
that time. I'd venture a guess that most of these would have ended up as wards
of the state, causing further overburdening of the criminal justice and social
service systems.

Again I would agree.

Which is why with all the hue and cry over illegal imigration we still have it
happening.  Many industries would have to rethink their whole operations if
illegal imigration was truly controlled.  Pay a visit to COlumbus Junction Iowa
whose largest industry is a meat packing plant.
 COnsider those who toil picking our fruits and vegetables.
THe almighty short term profit margin is the reason we still have an illegal
imigration problem. Every unskilled worker in this country is reminded that if
they demand too much they can easily be replaced by somebody who will work for
less, whether that person has a work permit or not. IN industries such as
manufacturing and other services where illegals can't do the jobs they use
outsourcing as the club.

BK>  True.

Again agreed, but one has to look at other factors, many of which are economic.
A child whose parents must spend more time outside the home working and who is
raised by the microwaved frozen dinner and the TV set will not have the moral
foundations on which to build a good citizen.  Parenting in and of itself is a
more than full time job.

We contribute to the "breakdown of society" when we raise
children to not consider how their actions impact others. we prevent said
breakdown when we teach our young people to think critically and not just cram
a few facts into their heads and leave them to go their own way.  Since the
education system has not been prepared to do this it's the parents' job.  IN
the past this has been an asssumption within the educational sector, and often
still is. YEt many parents are unable or unwilling to take on this vital role.

YEt it's easier to point fingers at "abortion on demand," "sex drugs and rock
'n roll," "violent games," etc. etc. etc.  Pick your demon, point your finger
and cry that said demon bears a large part of the responsibility for the
so-called breakdown of society.
