Interesting that you would turn a discussion of facts into a third-party
insult attempt.

I introduced facts.  Danny attempted to introduce facts.  He just got
his wrong.  The 9/11 Commission found ties between Al Qaeda and Iraq.
It also said it found no evidence that the two had in the past
cooperated on any attacks against the United States.  That is quite
different from saying "no ties."

Commissioner Lee Hamilton, for example: "I must say I have trouble
understanding the flap over this. The Vice President is saying, I think,
that there were connections between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein's
government. We don't disagree with that."

Commissioner Tom Kean: "There were contacts between Iraq and al-Qaeda, a
number of them, some of them a little shadowy. They were definitely
there."

In any event, his inaccurate allusion is irrelevant to the point made in
the London Telegraph article on Abu Nidal.  From the same article:

"It now transpires that Saddam was hoping to take advantage of Abu
Nidal's presence in Baghdad to persuade him to use his considerable
expertise in terrorist techniques to train al-Qa'eda fighters.

Abu Nidal worked closely with Saddam during the late 1970s and early
1980s to carry out a number of terrorist outrages in the Middle East and
Europe, including the attempted assassination of the Israeli ambassador
to London in 1982.

In recent years, Abu Nidal, who has been ill for many years, had scaled
down his terror operations.

With the prospect increasing of the US launching a military campaign to
overthrow Saddam, however, the Iraqi dictator was keen to combine Abu
Nidal's expertise with the enthusiasm of al-Qa'eda's fanatical fighters
to launch a fresh wave of terror attacks. In this way, Saddam hoped to
disrupt Washington's plans to overthrow him."

Note that this was AFTER 9/11.  Another one of those facts.  Do they
irritate you?
