Since Sarah Palin's speech was allegedly already written even
before she was picked as John McCain's running mate, I think
it's fair game to run a piece I wrote before she was John
McCain's running mate...

 Now this I had not known. I had assumed the speech would be
 written for her, didn't realize it would be written without
 regard as to who would deliver it. Now that it's mentioned, it
 does make sense, though. It also indicates she ain't near as
 good as the right wants us to believe. Or at least she hasn't
 shown it yet.

 Now this I had known. All anyone has to do is look at it. I have
 pointed out that after 9-11 pretty much the whole world was with
 us against the few who attacked us. After Iraq the world is
 laughing, at us or crying over us.

 Some of the right wing pundits have tried to play McCain's and
 Obama's response to the invasion of Georgia as a sign of how
 McCain is better equiped to handle the 3am phone call. In the
 end there was little difference. All anyone did is talk. Bush
 isn't even committing to rebuilding the military losses.

 IOW, he is going to talk loudly and carry a small stick.
