ฤrende: Routing
===============
Dear all,

Again I'm confronted with bouncing netmail to a valid listed sysop, using a
valid netmail-address. It arrives at its destination and is returned as
undeliverable ("unroutable" it says but in a Fido-environment this particular
comment is invalid since the message had already arrived at its destination).

Technically to me it seems to mean that this particular sysop is unable to
receive Fido-netmail on either of his addresses.

This is now the umpteenth case of such a thing occuring and I've had it.

RC46 has been requested to look into the issue and until further notice needs
to check-in. Maybe he's out on vacation, work-assignment or whatever which
demonstrates why I like being told you're there or you're not there.

Any such cases presenting themselves in future will, starting right now, be
dealt with in a strong manner. Either a sysop is in Fidonet or he/she isn't.

Sysops unable to receive netmail, even worse, do receive it but bounce it
telling it cannot be delivered have no place in the network.

Anybody having a different opinion here?

Greetings,

 \%/@rd

Serg,

I'm getting this message from 2:46/999 as a result of a mail destined to
2:46/999 from my system.

This is nonsense. 2:46/999 is a perfectly valid and listed system which
should be capable of handling perfectly normal Fido-mail.

I would appreciate you to instruct the sysop of 2:46/999 on how to properly
process normal Fido-mail.

If the sysop of said node cannot handle mail destined to his own node then I
completely fail to understand why he is in the nodelist in the first-place.

Thank you for looking into this and handling it.

Take care,

 \%/@rd
