          Noted!  I have a dictionary of word origins too, but I've never been
really impressed with it.  IIRC it's packed away somewhere at present....  :-)

          Yes.  If somebody is willing to pay you to do what you love doing...
and if you don't mind working evenings & weekends, which will almost certainly
put a crimp in your social life with those who work more conventional hours...
it has advantages.  I saw a number of very good shows for free because the man
guarding the door would let anybody in who was carrying a musical instrument &
woodwind players, like drummers, often play several different instruments at a
particular gig.  I saw the governor-general at a dinner party where Dallas & I
both got hired as members of the band too.  But that was before we had Nora...
and when last I heard, the average musician earned less than $10,000 per year.
So at least one of us had to do other things to put food on the table....  :-)

          She's becoming a young lady now, and IMHO a delight to be with!  She
managed to hold sleigh bells (with some modification) in her left hand for two
hours in rehearsal just before Xmas, with a break at the midway point.  She is
still having a few problems with the release, but once she gets her fingers in
position the grasp is there.  She's also been playing bongo drums this year in
band... not quite the way other people do, but the conductor is very tolerant.
And recently she's started going on outings without her wheelchair to familiar
places where she knows she won't have to walk very far in order to save wear &
tear on the family chariot.  She's taken your advice to heart about working on
her therapy & she's still working away at it, for which we thank you....   :-)
