Hi again, James!  This is a continuation of my previous message:

           Well put!  You do have a nice way with words... [chuckle].  I notice
that our mechanic, for example, has girlie calendars in his shop.  He didn't go
out & buy them, though.  Like me, he probably uses whatever cost him nothing as
long as he doesn't find the art work objectionable.  The suppliers of car parts
etc. may think the average mechanic enjoys, or is at least willing to tolerate,
such calendars... and they may be right.  But when Dallas checked out calendars
as a way of advertising a computer consulting business, he found very few which
did not portray semi-nude women.  Since his clients include a variety of people
... about half of whom are female... he decided to focus on other options.  :-)

           Uh-huh.  So while I dislike reinforcing the stereotype, it is easier
sometimes than battling illusions which I probably can't change anyway....  :-)

           Good point!  I'll ask the first female ambulance driver I meet... if
I ever actually meet one.  I know or know of a number of female rally drivers &
race car drivers & taxi drivers, but no female ambulance drivers.  Hmm....  :-)

           Exactly.  I may seem rather hard on SJ's & SP's at times, but that's
because I'm looking from the outside... and very few of them can explain how it
feels from the inside!  Human beings tend to respond more kindly to other human
beings who have had similar experiences and/or who think in a similar way.  :-)

           In some cases SP's may be, but I think it's more that they prefer to
live in the moment & operate on impulse.  I'm reminded of a situation years ago
in which I intended to discuss what Huck Finn said about how moss usually grows
on the north side of trees with a grade ten class.  The lesson ground to a halt
when one of my students insisted moss *always* grows on the north side of trees
because his Daddy said so.  I read the same story when I was a kid, and checked
this theory at the first opportunity.  IMHO moss tends to grow in a shaded spot
... which may (or may not) be on the north.  In just two blocks, between here &
Nora's old elementary school, I could easily show you two dozen trees with moss
growing only on the south.  In the woods where we go camping there are hundreds
of trees with moss on all sides.  Huck lived thousands of miles from here.  And
Huck was able to make a distinction between "always" and "usually" on the basis
of his own experience, where my student & his father apparently weren't.  Now I
understand better where these people are coming from.  If some Authority Figure
(even a fictitious character) makes an easily memorized assertion, it must be a
universal truth... and there is nothing of much importance between "always" and
"never".  That's SJ.  I wouldn't count on them if I were lost in the woods!  An
SP might be more motivated by the prospect of experiencing a new sensation, and
more confident of their own ability to improvise solutions to whatever problems
they encounter.  I suspect NT's are more interested in playing with new ideas &
more likely than either SJ's or SP's to gather input from various sources.  :-)
