Ärende: Introductions... 2.
============================
Ardith Hinton wrote to James Bradley, "Introductions... 2."

I was just beginning to forget what I wrote to begin with. <-;

Yup...

AH> of definitions... I take it there are several varieties. I

I would imagine so. My sister sent me some stuff I have yet to devour
completely, that says they are most common under the balls of the feet. I
gathered from my Doctor that any nerve can develop a neuroma if it's
traumatized.

As mine is located on the upper sciatic, [SP?] most "remedies" would involve
putting my leg to sleep... Forever! (sic.) Just when I was dropping amputation
as an option, the only option available is for me to carry around dead weight.

JB> I have been trying to pick up some of the Latin

AH> Oh, yeah... the "kitchen sink" percussion! I

That's a new one on me. "Kitchen sink percussion." As an award one year, my
teacher selected a instruction and manuscript book of Latin percussion
instruments. Maybe he knew something that even I wasn't aware of at the time,
but I really took a shining to it. Come to think of it, I was using a Philip's
drip-coffee maker basket as an instrument, so your definition is starting to
make sense too. <LOL>

AH> enjoy playing with such things. I find them quite
AH> intriguing, and Nora likes Latin music too.... :-)

Speaking of clarinet, have you heard any of that Canadian gal who records with
Cuban musicians? She calls it Jazz, but it is very ethnic. Lovely how the
phrasing interweaves.

JB> Well, I guess that's full disclosure. Now... What
JB> else is going on? <BWEG>

AH> Heh... I could write a book if I had the time! I

I've got the time to read it. <-;

AH> was very interested in your account of how you were

I can only report on what is working for me. Like I said elsewhere, get the
doctor to advise you. For me, the muscle stretch was intuitive, but TOTALLY
counter-productive.

AH> story. Perhaps I'll get around to the rest of it some day.
AH> Meanwhile I appreciate the warning, anyhow.... :-))

Oh... That ( v- ) warning.

 JB> Oh... Just a warning, I'm sure you've discovered
JB> about me, I can be a bit of a brat, but I've been
JB> told I can be a lot of fun regardless.

AH> That's the impression I got. Seems to me life would
AH> be rather boring if we were all the same, and I think everybody
AH> has something to contribute. I don't believe there is only one
AH> "correct" way to handle such things. As I see it you have

...Such things as life? <Chortle>

AH> gumption... you have a sense of humour... you understand
AH> the value of music... and you don't edit your reports of
AH> your own feelings & motivations according to what others
AH> expect or regard as socially acceptable. IMHO you've
AH> already found some pretty good strategies for dealing with this
 AH> stuff.... :-)

You're not the first to remind me of most of those points. <G>

The last half of your observations are what bothers me about myself. I would
*like* to be more self editing, but socially, and in written word, I tend to
forge forth with the subtlety of a low-grade explosive. What you gonna do, eh?
Here I am, and that's what you get.

What is kinda irking me now, is the sister that researched the neuroma,
professed to NOW understand what I might be going through. She means well, but
she must not have been listening, or just plain not paying attention for the
past few years. I suppose I should feel lucky that they all care, but sometimes
their self righteous, judgemental opinions get tiring when I have to shove them
down their throats so often. /-:

One of my pet sayings is, "I hate to tell you I told you so, but I'm getting
good at it." Shoot, I don't want them to *know* what I'm going through. I don't
even want them to pretend. Just bloody well set your preconceived ideas of what
I need at the door, shut up, and listen. (For a change. |-)

Come to think of it, I can't recall how many times I've told them that too! 0-8
