Hi, Daryl!  Recently you wrote in a message to Ardith Hinton:

          She doesn't sound like the right home care worker for *you*, anyway!
If you have no way of knowing in advance when she's likely to be available, or
if her verbosity gets on your nerves, or if she just blurts out whatever is on
her mind & you don't feel you can trust her not to share your private business
with others, you'd probably be better off in the long run looking for somebody
else.  Not an easy task, I know.  But IMHO it's important that one be at least
reasonably compatible with whoever is working in one's personal space....  :-)

          Dunno.  I think we put the fear of God into him, however!  He didn't
realize he was up against a pair of high school teachers... [chuckle].

          I've seen people doing wheelies & whatnot at such events... and I've
seen people on TV doing all sorts of athletic activities with wheelchairs.  If
you don't allow a little thing like not being able to walk very well interfere
with something you want to do, go for it!  We'll be cheering for you....  :-))

          Perhaps, in the sense that emotions can interfere with one's ability
to reason at times.  In terms of reasoning styles, however, I wouldn't say the
"thinking" style is better or worse than the "feeling" style.  Both have their
place, and I find it most productive to strike a balance between the two.  For
some people marriage sounds like a business arrangement... e.g. "I married him
for better or for worse, but not for lunch!"  Others make plans for a romantic
wedding before they've decided who they're going to marry, and it doesn't seem
to occur to them that the future bride or groom might have something to say on
the subject.  Research indicates that human beings are "smarter" when they use
both sides of the brain... and IMHO emotional intelligence calls on both.  :-)
