Hmm... I never got that impression at all. Yes, Archer was trying to stop a
war with the Klingons, but I don't really think they'd ever feature such a
thing. Heck, it's hard to see how Earth could hold out in a war soon with
the Romulans what with Enterprise -- and soon Columbia -- being the only two
high speed ships.

Also, I think Archer's success can't really be questioned from a Trek
history POV. Although Trek canon would indicate that relations with the
Klingons were never good, I don't think there's ever been mention of a real
war with them. That doesn't mean one never happened, but it seems
unlikely...

Presumably, they were just a little ticked off at the fact that one of their
ships was hijacked and the crew murdered. If that couldn't be considered an
act of war, I don't know what would. (Sure, they knew the DNA made the
Augments slightly different, but how do they know Earth didn't send them?)
As I've said, I'm not sure why the Klingons would back off in the first
place... It certainly doesn't seem to be the Klingon way.

Did it every really hit atmosphere, though? Certainly, the explosion would
kill most biological agents and if it was high enough (even in the high
upper atmosphere where there's little air) any that survived wouldn't for
long.

One of the things that has kind of been glossed over in these three episodes
is that, last we saw, Archer had a major bounty on his head due to escaping
a Klingon prison in "Judgement." The desire for revenge was so great that a
Klingon ship nearly tailed Enterprise in the Expanse. Granted, it's been
over a year, but just letting go of vengence is very unlike Klingons as
well.

Add that to how Archer violated their space and damaged one of their ships
and you'd think the Klingons would be beating the war drums.

I didn't really have that much of a problem with it, though it was slightly
over the top. At least he didn't mention anything about having to collect
"data" about building an android.

>I'm surprised that the

I was a bit confused about this, though, as Soong would either have to gain
his freedom at some point (and he doens't seem to be getting any younger...)
to have a child or he already has one somewhere to carry on his name. If
it's the latter, it would appear that they are at least somewhat estranged,
as there's no indication of that. Also, if he has childrend already, it
seems odd that he'd be so fascinated with his adopted "children," the
Augments.

I haven't really noticed a difference, though that in itself is a good
thing. Then again, in recent weeks, the cable station that I watch
ENTERPRISE on has occaisonally waivered, sometimes even appearing like a
poorly tuned in station...
