Great we rampage around the world bombing who ever we want to.  Problem 
with Syria, is they have no oil, so the US doesn't have the great of 
interest in it.

We didn't raise the issue then and encourage him when he used them against 
the Iranians.  In fact supply him with weapons and support then.

He is a stupid jerk but the UN was almost finished and did not find any 
WMD's  they ask for a bit more time but the US had no interest and wanted 
to invade.
The US wanted to invade for the oil, for the strategic importance of Iraq, 
and Central Asian and again to control the oil and gas, which is starting 
to run out.  We do not want the Russia or China to control that.  We want 
to sell it to them.

Actually the estimate is 1,000,000.  Now Saddam did not suffer much, it 
built palaces and let his people suffer for lack to health care and 
nutrition.

They never had anything that could be used on US only maybe Iran and maybe 
Israel (which is another big part of the problem).

If your country was invaded and occupied you might also resist a bit.
