Let's say anyone that could install Windows and get it running..   B)

Understood, however that would suggest the best course of action is
the same as Windows offers, although of course Linux would/should/could
be much more detailed.   That choice being:

A -  Default install
B - Custom Installation (Recommended only for experienced users)

Yes, I've heard a few people's versions of the best way to do that
but in my suggested case there would be an automated setup for that
that would work fine for most people. Later, once you're an 'expert',
you'd know how you can improve on that if the default is not exactly
right for you.

Defaults generally install too much stuff and suck to varying
degrees but for newbies they are simple and almost always work
when done. I know people who say they install Windows just fine
in 25 minutes. I can have the computer running in that but it
takes me about 4 days to get it exactly the way I want it unless
I'm installing it from a backup. That includes a lot of outside
software so to be more accurate let's just say you can spend a
few hours tweaking Windows to work the way you want it.
