I've used Kubuntu with great success. I'm not a Gnome fan, so it worked pretty
well for me. I used it for a while to learn some programing on. Oh, and I've
also used it when my Win2K box crashed and I couldn't find my CD and/or key.
Works great as a repair disk as well!

Nice! I had a P-133 running CentOS and it ran like a champ. The only problem I
had was the old trident video card, so I replaced it with an old S3 I had
laying around. I currently have Ubuntu Server edition (no gui) running on an
old laptop that was given to me. I say "old" loosely because it's not really
all that old. It's a 1.7Ghz AMD mobile processor. I have a dual processor
P3-600 waiting for me to put it to use. lol!

I agree. Vista probably would run, but you wouldn't get any of the eye-candy
or special features to it.

I use VNC a lot from work to both my BBS and main system boxes. It's really
hard to beat the price as well. :)

I like apt-get, although if you don't know the group or name of the package
right off hand, it can be a pain. I must admit that Synaptic is a very nice
package manager.
