I used to do that, but one time (at least) I typed a Reply message
while in the Personal Mail section of the QWK Reader, and when I got to
reading messages in that echo I saw that someone else had written to
the person and had typed everything (and more) of what I had wrote
earlier, so now I just wait till I'm in the echo to respond to messages
to me.
I hate taking the time to write a lengthly message and seeing I wasted
my time doing it, and have to erase the first message and enter a
shorter version of what the topic under discussion was.

I sometimes skip some areas.
I never have went back to the DOVENET echo to read all those messages
yet.....

EV> I never heard of a "kino" camera, so before writing this reply I
EV> took a look to see what it was all about.

EV> The LomoKino Camera uses a 36 (Standard Frame Size for a Still
EV> Camera) Exposure Roll of 35mm Film.

HG> 36 mm film has always been used for cinema cameras/projectors
 HG> until todays digital recordings.

HG> 16 mm film was used by news reporters allover the world and 8
HG> mm film was used for hobby use. 8 mm film actually was 16 mm
HG> film split length- wise or it could be used as is by turning
HG> the spool around and using the other side just like a
 HG> C-cassette used for audio.

It's been a long time since I used my fathers 8mm movie camera, but
something about the size of the sprocket holes seemed to my mind (???)
that they were smaller holes than what 16mm film had.

I have a reel of 8mm film downstairs, and after writing this message
I will take a look see.
Please bear with me, I know I don't know it all and never will, but I
have been interested in Film Photography years ago.

HG> I still have a Paillard Bolex "double eight" film camera where
HG> the spool was turned around to use the other half of the 16 mm
 HG> film.

I remember doing that with Dad's camera too.

EV> So we're both right about the number 36 except it didn't mean mm for
 EV> Your Camera.

HG> Suit yourself but the Fuji Film box containing raw film says
HG> 24x36mm where the 24 mm is the "height" of the film and 36 mm
 HG> the width.

I don't mean to be a pain, but the 36mm measurement is lengthwise on
the roll of film, not Sprocket to Sprocket width which is 24mm.

._...

The sprocket holes are approx. 4mm apart.
1.5mm X 2.0mm is the size of the holes, as best as I can tell.

I don't have any 16mm film here but I will look and find out if 16mm
film and 8mm film have the same size sprocket holes.

I'm thinking that You probably are correct about 8mm film being 16mm
filn cut in half.
