Holger,

The B&W's I was thinking about in a text editor are things such as:
Justifing text to the Right or Left or Centering the text,
Using different fonts and being able to Underline or use Italics.
Things like that, to me, are unnecessary for writing BBS msgs.

Right now I can't remember if QEdit does any of that or not.

I'm not sure if MM correctly shows umlaut character or not.
I don't mind seeing them in someones message(s) but I don't use them.

HG> But edit.com has one limit, it can't print out to an USB port.

I haven't tried printing from EDIT to a USB printer but ages ago
Jeff Guerdat helped me use a USB AIO printer with SLMR by using the
NET USE command.

I use a .BAT file that is in my PATH called NETUSE.BAT .
It looks like this:

NET USE
NET USE LPT2: /DELETE
NET USE
NET USE LPT2 //[COMPUTER NAME]/[PRINTER NAME] /PERSISTANT:YES
NET USE

Note: My .BAT file is in lower case instead of UPPER CASE,
I used UC tonight to make it a bit easier to read.

I don't know if OS/2 has a NET USE command, if it does try it out.

It does the job here when I tell SLMR to print to LPT2 the job goes
to the USB AIO Printer.

I never have tried printing from MM49DOS but if you want me to
I'll try doing it in MM.
