Ärende: McAfee SiteAdvisor BAH!

For quite a while I have had troubles getting the Results Page
for something I wanted to learn about by going to ask.com and
entering a search request.

I have had Firefox crash so much lately (3 times today) that I
took notice (today) that when the Results Page first started
to be displayed I wouldn't see the McAfee SiteAdvisor (SA) Icon
appear beside of the Links found by ask.com.

After a short while I would get a window opened saying something
about a error 1172, or some other error number.
I would click on the Continue Button and after a bit I would be able
to use the wheel on my mouse to scroll down the listing.

Today I noticed that just as the SA icon appeared on the screen
I would be getting that error window.

So today I Disabled the Extensions and Plugins for McAfee SiteAdvisor.
I thought SA would be useful for me to be able to 'know' if a web site
was O.K. for me to go to, but because of so many times when I went to
web pages that SA had trusted in the pass by showing the indicator
being GREEN, other days when I visited the site again I'd see GREY,
and to get the indicator to turn green again I would have to reload
the page or click on the GREY SA indicator for it to go to its web
site to give me the results it had for the web site, which usually
said the site was O.K. , but even then SA's indicator would show
a GREY indication for its own web page.

Today I gave up wrestling between alternating clicks on the
reload circle on Firefox and clicks on SA's GREY indicator.

BAH!,  I'm done with it.

But I do hope SA works better for those who still use it than
what my experience has been.
I still have Web Of Trust  (WOT) indicator and AVAST! also has a
indicator for the web pages I visit.

Now for Number 2 on the list of my computer troubles.

AVAST! can't check individual files as it used to be able to do for me.
I have the Scan option set to "Select folders to scan", and it will
do that for an entire Directory(Folder) but not for one or more files
I want it to scan in that directory.

So I will quit trying to use AVAST!'s right-click scan option when
I want to check a file(s) in windows explorer, and just keep on
checking everything before I run it by using SuperAntiSpyware and
MalwareBytes to get their O.K. first.

Computer = 1      Ed = 0   (this time)
