We have access to NASCAR racing on our locally broadcast Fox channel, but
that will end about midway through the season and we'll have to go to ESPN
to get the last half of the racing season. ABC carries the Indy and what I
call 'go cart' (Formula 1) racing, but who knows, they may pickup
something from down under. Wishful thinking I guess.

Maybe it's time for you to invest in a video recorder...That's a nice way
to skip commercials and fast forward to watch races. The Daytona race was
spectacularly run by the top 5 finishers.

What we have now is the VEL or Velocity channel, which is more car
oriented than MAVTV. Some of the  older programs are run on it too, but
they hae newer automotive oriented shows that are just as interesting. One
of my favorite programming was a two hour series on off road buggy
building, an engine building tech, a muscle car rebuilding pgm and my
favore, Trucks. It used to run both Saturday and Sunday mornings, but has
been dropped by the previous series producer and picked up by a new
producer who has changed the names of the programs and it only plays on
Sunday mornings now. At least that leaves my Saturday mornings free to
work on my own projects. 8^)

 HG> Sadly no. Most progammes do however have TXT TV pages with listings

Well, that's better than nothing. DircTV (sat) has a guide that gives you
a description of the program, what the next one is about and if/when it
will play again. Some of the programs can be seen at a later time and that
allows me to watch programming that won't be repeated until the re-run
season begins.
