Hmm... I think I'm using original-from-the-author program. Maybe I should
look into Azureus. Never heard of it. From a quick look at the site, it
appears to be a pay system. Or.. can one just get by with the SourceForge
featured Azureus client? I assume you mean the latter. Azureus sounds
interesting. Currently, my "original" BitTorrent (v3.4.2) is utilizing many
different ports. I don't get a visual indication of transfers other than a
summary % bar, and a download/upload rate, and an estimated time remaining.
Azureus is definately worth a closer look. Thanks for mentioning it.

Ah... I figured that time slot was for the Shoppng Cart and Account
Registration with Linspire. I didn't get a successful "Check Out" until
well passed 11:30 EDT. Once I got that.. fetching the torrent was readily
accessible each time I had to stop it and start it for my own reasons. I
figured that as long as someone is also using the torrent, the download
will always be available. I get connections from all over the world.

My computer has been on for about 12 hours.. and I have about 68meg
downloaded. I estimate approx 90 more hours to go. I'll get there! ;) The
torrent has also served about 30meg outbound in the mean time.

I'm not impressed with the "serious" linux community that you describe.
What efforts are they making to help people embrace Linux - or ANY distro
and communicate that in a way that someone with little computer techo-babble
experience can understand? The whole Linux distro picture is very
confusing, and cryptic. But along comes Winux -> Lindows -> Linspire and
solves an installation/upgrade communications dilema! Excellent, I say.
For $20/yr that's a wonderful convenience. Typically one would pay a
technician atleast TWICE that to install a simple program.. and it would
probably require bringing in the computer to the shop to do that.. and even
more if a service call to the home was required.

The Linspire solution is not for everyone. The system probably benefits
only those who have high-speed internet inorder to fetch the large .iso' or
packages(???) But atleast SOMEONE came up with a simple easy way to
install, use, and upgrade an OS and its software - hats off to them. And
the main thing is they provide and unshamefully promote a low-cost OS
alternative to M$-stuff.

I'm also looking forward to receiving the Ubuntu discs I requested.
