It's not "computer techo-babble", it's "terminology". When
Windows was first released there was new terminology to learn
in order to have an intelligent discussion and understand
replies to requests for assistance. RTFM was a popular reply to
those who stubbornly refused to learn to 'speak Windows' here
or at any other public forum. 

If linux users become frustrated at trying to offer assistance
to a person who refuses to RTFM it's understandable frustration. 

Windows help files were incomplete and are incomplete even now.
Linux has 'manpages' and 'info' included with the distributions
that document the majority of the OS (at times so much so it is
almost overwhelming trying to read them).

I'm really going to enjoy listening to the knashing of teeth
and groaning when Longhorn is complete including the new file
system. Won't it be fun learning some new 'techo-babble' to
discuss the new Windows OS and it's new file system? ;-)

If you are referring to the pre-installed hardware/software
package of Linspire then yes it solves the problem. They
created a hardware package that their version of Linux can
utilize (more power to them) but this does not mean that
Linspire will function properly on just any hardware.

Automated installation of additional software and updates was
being done by several distributors of linux long before
Linspire came on the scene. Linspire is an attempt to generate
income from what other people have already developed from
software other people wrote.

If you know where to look you can sometimes get a full
distribution for $1 plus shipping. Less than $5 total. Is it
really worth the hassles trying to download for several days to
save less than $5?
