 I really haven't looked at the business side, but I know it's there.
 I also know that the corporations using Linux, as well as other versions
 of the .nx platform pay for their support.

 While that may not bode well for the home user, it does suggest that
 the applications, while probably quite pricey, are there.  Indeed
 I found one accounting application (Viper) that is $5000 for a
 five license package.  For that kind of money, it should be quite
 capable.

 I see the challenge to develop the panacea of functions the home user
 demands much more formidable than producing the basics required by
 a SOHO user.  But I do think that the recent platforms indicate
 a trend toward user friendliness.

 I had a brainstorm this afternoon thinking about Jay's predicament
 with the Win95 USB laptop, and thought hey, maybe a Linux CD would
 allow him to use his USB flash drive.

 I have a USB multi-card reader here, so I tested it with all of the
 live CD distros I had.  Linspire saw it but would not read it.  The
 others, including Knoppix, MEPIS and Ubuntu, didn't find it.  Xandros
 saw and read it.  That's indicative of the challenge for Linux, IMO.
