Perhpas that One in and Two out is the Splitter I am talking about. It
difived the sighnals comming form the Telephone exchange into two Bands.
Up to approx 4 kHz is the Analog Phone band. Above that is for DSL
usage. On the Typical ASDL system(there are others but I use this one as
an example) a Band between 25kHz and 138 kHz is the upstream data band
and between 138 hKz and 1200 kHz is the Downstream band.
So the One i nand Two out is most likely the "DSL Splitter that I am
talking about and inside there is a LOW pass filter feeding the Analog
phone line port that blocks the higher frequency DSL signal.

You should already know this but SBC is a VERY preditory company. They
will cover all bases and even Bribe the Public Utilities comission i
nthe States they are opertional in to Increase their Profit Margin.
They are also Famous for SCREWING their Retirees by changing the rules.
I was greatly saddened when "Pacific Bell" was gobbled up by YOUR former
phone service supplier as "Pacific Bell" was out of the old school "Ma
Bell" REAL service to the Public generation.
