Not really. I could just say "OK, have fun" and drop it there.
In any discussion of backups or computer 'security' someone (or
both) have to be a devil's advocate and expect the worst
possible outcome. That's the nature of the beast that we are
all trying to subdue.

Not really. I'm "hung up" on the recent MyWife's delayed
response to only become active on the 3rd of each month. There
are others that just sit on your hard drive waiting that give
no indication they are even there.

I'm a bit fuzzy on "backup up the hardware". Can you expand on
that a little bit so that I know what you refer to here?

"Makes sense" is a comparative term comparable to beauty being
in the eye of the beholder. Lately I have had to update my
virus scanner's database daily and replace my firewall with an
updated version. I have gone to Microsoft for 'rootkit
revealer' software and to others for third party 'revealers' of
rootkits. The problem with WMF files required a third-party
patch because Microsoft would not be moved to release anything
even after the WMF exploit was widely advertised. Even SONY has
gotten into the 'game' with rootkit installations. 

To do what I feel must be done to keep a 'clean' system absorbs
more and more of my day and I don't enjoy any of it. The
internet is becoming a broken down old whore-house where petty
criminals are free to roam and even boast about their
accomplishments while users struggle to replace commercial (pay
as you go) anti-virus software with software that offers free
updates and removing even ZoneAlarm to install an updated
version of ZoneAlarm borders on trashing your system's OS.

Windows + Internet = a disaster waiting to happen, and I see no
end of it in sight any time soon.
