The nice thing about running an operating system using virtualization or
emulation software (like Parallels or Virtual PC or VMWare) is that it's
easy to backup... there's a single large file that is the virtual hard
drive; if his Win98 installation is currently OK, I would strongly suggest
he (or you) back it up-- if it's small enough, just burn it to DVD...if
it's too large, Zip it up (Zip support is built into Mac OS X) then burn
to DVD or just leave the Zip file on his hard drive.

Then, when the Windows installation gets infested to the point of being
unusable, just delete the hard drive image file and unzip the backup.
