The *.tib file is created when you make an image of the entire drive
or partition.  TI will look for those during restore or recovery.  It
doesn't matter whether the backup was done as complete or incremental.
During an incremental backup the original *.tib file is appended with
the new data.

Did you select restore the entire drive\partition or files\folders? If
you selected to restore only files\folders then you will only see that
view.  When you select restore the entire drive or partition, you
should get an Explorer view of the entire system where you can then
choose the *.tib file to restore.

Like I said before, I believe it's hardware related to the Toshiba
notebook.  The recovery CD created by the TI 9  program is supposed to
contain drivers that will enable the recovery to "see" any external
devices such as firewire or USB drives.  The restore point folder
somehow interferes with that process.  Why, I have no idea.   I may
get in touch with Acronis support and see what they say.  Although in
the past I haven't been impressed with them.
