Jeff,

I still have my W95 laptop but figure if I was wanting to network it
into my XP box I'd have to use a Wired Lan PCMCIA card to connect it to
a Router if I ever decide to make that jump.

I don't think I will ever buy another laptop.
This Acernote Light P133 has had the CMOS battery die on it and 2 techs
at Circuit City couldn't find a CMOS battery in it.
After I got it back I called Acer and found out they had sold all the
parts to my model to another company. I called that company and they
said the battery was on the bottom of the motherboard and it was a bear
to get to. They do it for US$75 if I wanted to ship it to them.
So far I have just been pressing F8 and selecting Command Prompt and
typing TIME and setting the time and DATE and setting the date and then
typing WIN to get it where I could use it on W95. Works for me.  :-]

I'm not so much in favor of Wi-Fi Routers et al, because I rather be
self contained here instead of being open to Drive By connections trying
to use my internet connection, or looking at my files.

I have used Zone Alarms free Firewall ever since I heard about it, I
have it on the W95 laptop and on this XP box, and I have used it on the
P90 W98SE box too.

So I'm covered with the Software firewall, I just have to decide what
Wired Router I want. I see boxes that are router and switches, and some
other routers just say router. I'll go investigate them at Office Depot
some day.

Thanks for letting me know all the routers have firewalls in them,
that's one question I won't have to ask the sales person at OD.
