Oh, I am well aware of the actions of the validation plugin, but M$ has me
by the "short curlies" if I want to take advantage of their other software
offerings.  I am in agreement with you about the "Big Brother" tactics that
M$ is employing, but there seems to be very little that the consumer can do
about it.  "If you don't like what the software is doing, then stop using
the software." may be the only solution.

Well, if it is truly spyware, Spybot Search and Destroy, SpyWareBlaster and
Dustin Cook's BugHunter are not finding it.  Or, are they finding it and
since it has a M$ signature, they are purposely granting it rights to
exist?

Send a shortcut to the desktop worked for me and then I just moved the
shortcut to my Start menu.
