The router isn't the issue - it's either TCP/IP or the browser version.  Test
TCP/IP by pinging the router ("ping 192.168.0.1" or whatever your router's
address is) followed by using nslookup to look up some server's IP address
("nslookup www.google.com").  The first may work while the second doesn't -
that indicates a DNS configuration issue.  If the first fails, yer really hosed
- TCP/IP simply isn't working.

Assuming TCP/IP is working, you can download an newer version of IE from
http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=msie - take your pick - newer is better
but remember that W9x hasn't been supported on the newest versions.  I'd try
the 5.5 version but you may need to fall back to 4.01.  Write 'em to CD and
transfer them to the TP for testing.

Win95 defaulted to only NETBEUI, I believe, so you'd have to specifically load
TCP/IP on it.  There was also at least one Winsock version update that would
need to be applied although I don't know if that would be the reason for your
problems.  There are also numerous updates and patches found at:

For the Winsock2 update, go to the middle of the page - it's the second entry
in the Networking section.
