Ärende: Still freezes.

        No, honest, I did not know but I will be thankfull. Let me
   know how much so I can mail a duccat or two.

        No way, this is a great community, very friendly and human at
   that. There was a dubious one but the Lord is now bothered with
   him, I hope.

        This Compaq is running XP. Well it was last night. I left it
   running over night again but with the case closed up and this
   morning, it was dead, frozen. Where are you suggesting would be the
   heat problem ?

 JH> I see from later post that you have that one figured out.  This new
 JH> one is an Athlon64 3200+, I think, and I had to hit the F2 key very
 JH> quickly, it gets into POST so fast.
 
        This Compaq also is an Athlon, a 950 MHz. I now have it reset
   with the side open, just to confirm that it really needs cooling
   air. Today, my project is to see if I can instal an extra case fan
   in it, there is a pad for one and I do have one laying around,
   still have to find a connector on the MoBo.

 JH> Good thing you have your own room for this stuff.  Sally gets upset
 JH> when I leave the side or cover off of the computer case.  She likes
 JH> things to look neat and pretty.  Women can be annoying, but they help

        Yes, it is nice having my own realm. L. is just like S., she
   likes to even run this new room of mine. I like to give her the
   impression that she does and she thinks that she does. Hooots.

 JH> No need for them here right now.  I have DSL now, so I can quickly get

        Aida now replaced by Everest is no longer free. I kept the
   both of them as free apps. Even with DSL, you would have to use
   your credit card. Let me know.

 JH> I see where other folks here have cautioned about static electricity. 

        I do worry about it and take very basic precautions, no static
   mat nor bracelet. So far, I have been lucky.

        Say that again. My son turned 51 yesterday. He took after me
   and flies the Airbus. Beats working for a living.
