Ärende: Temperature ?

        As I did not see any probe reading on this CPU, I have to
   resort to just reading the temperature of the radiator. I slipped
   in a lab instrument in the slot where the spring retainer is, in
   the radiator. With the heat transfer grease, I get a higher reading
   of 33øC from 28.5øC, this tells me that the heat is being
   dissipated. But this morning, the machine was frozen again, as I
   said in a previous post. The cover is off again. We shall see.

        I will keep this one forever ! As you said, one never knows
   when it will be needed. Thanks for the thought. I paid $3.00 for
   this dab of thermal grease here, .3cc of it.

        This probably what is happenigng to this Athlon, not mine, my
   daughter's in the Compaq. The one in the Holsenback Mk-1 is still
   doing good, to the extend that I see no need to splurge on a new
   system.     Berquist material...that would be the name to remember.
   That must be the stuff, one use, that is making up that square of
   material on the CPU, no ? I left it all on there and hope that the
   thermal grease does the job. What is my next move, would you say ?
   It would be nice to solve this, it started happening after about
   2.5 years of use, maybe after I gave her a copy of XP that had gone
   south and back up north. Maybe XP is too much for this CPU ? Aida
   says that the CPU is at 1% when not in use but still it freezes.
