Here are my Two Cents worth...

I've been messing with Computers since the late 1960's

Here are Three: Primary Ideas for maintaining your Computer:

1.) Delete and Remove Junk Files and Temp files from your
    Computer regularly and Optimize and Defrag the Hard drive
    at least Monthly to keep the hard drive healthy.


2.) Use a Good Anti-Virus program on your Computer and
    keep it Updated at least weekly..
    and if your connected to the Internet, then you also
    need a Good two-way FireWall program on your Computer
    and keep the Firewall UP and Updated regularly..


3.) If your Happy with the Performance/Speed and function
    of your current Computer, Programs and Operating System
    Even if it is Windows for Workgroups 3.11,
    Win95/98/98SE/ME/NT/W2K and what you are using does
    what you need it to do...

    then here is a hard and fast Rule:

    ***> "If it Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It!" <***

    this means, If what you have works for you now
    and does everything you need it to do now!

    Then there is no Need to Udate to a newer Oparating System
    Or Different Program, just because it is Newer and has
    more Bells and Whistles or New Features..

However, this does not mean that you should not UPDATE your
Current program or Operating System with Available Bug-Fixes
or updated Security Patches for the same program that you Using..

Unless the Update will Only provide New Features that you
don't want or Need..
