Don't be hasty.  The only way I know of converting NTFS to FAT-32 is
to use the ability of Partition Magic 8.1.  And there is no guaranty
it will work OK.  I've done it with my Toshiba notebook but that was
when the machine was new and I had nothing to lose if it failed.

It's not only that.....  XP, both Home and Pro page in 4K increments
and tests show that 4K clusters are the most efficient.  I know I'm
talking to the wall here...<g>  but mention it anyway.  As far as
extra security is concerned - what extra security are you talking
about?

You don't need encryption or file\folder security if you're the only
one using the machine.  Quit being so negative about it.  Be thankful
you finally got XP up and running.  You've been in electronics long
enough to remember the old adage about if it "ain't broke".....
