Gordon,

For a while I used Stacker on my 486 box, can't remember how long, but I
finally UnStacked it when I saw that the .ZIP files I had downloaded
were not compressed any further, and I had a lot of those on the 2 HDs
in the box.

Both of those HDs are nearly full but I don't think I'll STAC the 486
box again. ;-)

Thanks, I will keep your suggestion about repartitioning the 250GB HD in
the XP box on my ROUNDTUIT list when I get more confident.

One thing I just thought about is when I restored files back to a HD on
the 468 DOS/Windows 3.1 box (I THINK) it lays all the files in one
continous strip (so to speak) on the HD and I think from looking at
Windows 95 DEFRAG Win95 and probably this XPMCE 2002 SP2 box probably
puts different kinds of prograns in several sections of the HD.

Probably XP (or Win95) would juggle the files all around the first time
the computer was turned on after a Restore to suit its self.
