Not knowing exactly what the inverter does, I suspect it has something to do
with signal sync.  Constant vertical rolling or horizontal tearing is always a
sync problem of some sort.  Sync pulses are embedded within the video signal. 
Where is the inverter located?

Not all wireless card bus add ons are alike.  I have two of them - one from
Microsoft, the other from NetGear.  The one from MS is very easy to use, plug
and play but needs drivers.  The NetGear unit is faster (108) and requires a
matching router or it defaults to 54.
