It doesn't seem to work that way here. My wife and I were out - she was
shopping and we were on the way home when my granddaughter called me on
my cell phone - unexpectedly needing a ride to work. Her dad had to work
overtime and her mother was at her job. They live about 1 1/2 miles from
my house as does my son and his wife (with 2 of my other grand kids).
Without my cell phone my granddaughter would have been rather late to
work.
