OK, after looking over the DOCs again, the guest additions are loaded during
the installation and building of the VM. They're actually selected from the
settings options. They include the enhanced USB driver, video, mouse, network
card.

I also ran into some problems with USB devices not being released by the Host
to the guest.  Don't know if it's something about OS X or poor implementation
of the guest drivers.

I did some more network testing.  My initial observation may have been off
somewhat. :)  I was able to download some large files at almost normal speeds
for my connection.

I ran into some real problems uninstalling the VM and the program though.  An
uninstaller was included with the package but doesn't work very well.  Deleting
the VM should have removed it and restored space back to the HDD.  After
removing VirtualBox and the VM it still left over 4 Gb behind.  Obviously, it
only said it removed the VM but really didn't.  I finally located it and
removed it. If I had not been familiar with Unix file systems, it would have
been very difficult to find.

Anyway, it was fun playing around with VirtualBox.  It's not ready for prime
time (for OS X) but OK for the price.

Back to Parallels. :)
