Ärende: MAX HDD size for Win2K?

I did check it out but wasn't overly impressed - I went with nLite. I
guess it really doesn't matter what program (personal preference) as long
as the task gets accomplished.

This is exactly what happened. I decided to temporarily forgo the Win2K
installation in favor of an XP installation for the wife. NO RAID and XP
wouldn't recognize the other two drives as SATA. Changed the BIOS SATA
drive setting to IDE drives and it was a success.

Does this imply that I can change the BIOS setting back to SATA _after_ I
have the OS installed and I wish to add more HDDs to the system?

I will probably redo the wife's system. I installed Win XP Pro with SP2
from the retail CD and got the SP3 from the M$ website. I think if I had
used nLite beforehand, I could have cut down on a lot of stuff that M$
installs and I have no use for. As an example, I don't require all those
foreign language files, their corresponding keyboard layout files... I can
also perform some "tweaks" that were previously available in the Powertoy's
TWEAK UI (which I can not locate; either for W2K or XP). I should have
made a hard copy of the XP services that aren't essential and I could have
fix that all up in the nLite configuration...

I'm very satisfied with the nLite program - I learn more each time I use
it. I am a little fuzzy about one aspect though... It says to copy the
entire XP / W2K CD to a "Source" folder on the hard drive, but I'm thinking
that only the files in the CD root and the entire i386 folder are
necessary. Care to give an opinion of my thinking?

Sorry for taking so long to reply, but my work is interfering with my life
and passions. :-))

           Cheers ... Gerald
