Ärende: 35MM Scanner

Jean,

You and one of my friends at church 10 years ago are the only ones that
I know who have a 35MM Scanner.

His is made by HP.

I looked on HPs site but couldn't find any of them listed now.

The other day I got a ad from Bed Bath and Beyond and it showed a
35mm Scanner for $100US.

I am on their mailing list and they regularly send me 20% off coupons,
so I got one for $80US plus tax.

It is made by VuPoint Solutions and is called a Film and Slide Digital
Convertor.

It contains 3 White LEDs in the housing, 2 plastic holders, 1 for a
strip of 6 Negatives and the other one holds 3 cardboard mounted slides.

I told an old friend about it and he asked me if I had used it yet,
and I told him not yet, and he said for me to try it out and call him
back with the results.

I installed the Driver for the device and the Arc Soft PhotoImpression6
software, then I put a slide in the plastic holder and tried it out.

It worked OK so I sent a copy of the file it made to my friend by email
and he said he would get one also.

While using it I noticed the Preview Screens image acted kinda like a
Slow Scan TV image, as I adjusted the slide for framing in the preview
window.

It gets its power from a USB 2.0 connection to the computer.

In the user's manual that came with the Convertor is a Customer Service
email address.

I haven't tried that yet.

The Converters model no. is FS-C1-VP-BX2  it is made in China.

It can be used with Windows XP or Windows Vista.

I know you already have a 35MM Scanner, I just thought someone else here
may be interested in the device.
