Ummm..  not really.  Seems to me that you have quite a few hdds for your
various laptops by now.  I'm thoroughly perplexed.  ;)

Same here.  I use a 50% original price reference.  I usually factor in the
shipping price if the cost is over $50.


....then, I use a sneaky procedure, I go looking for item with

I don't think that works as you think.  For instance, when I used "thimkpad",
this is what ebay reported:

	"17,931 results found for thinkpad
	0 results found for thimkpad, so we searched for thinkpad."

So, ebay does some spellchecking on our behalf.

But I did find my T40p by some fluke that I am not sure of.  Initially, I
searched for T40, and I'd swear, my T40p was NOT listed.  Then I looked for
some other term that I can't remember anymore and one T40p was listed.  Its
auction was ending in less than 30 minutes!  I had to decide quickly.  What
surpised me was that its price was lower than some T40's configured with less
stuff: smaller/slower hdds, less ram, etc.  There was no time to ask questions
to the seller.  There were NO bids on the item!  I wondered, if there is
anything functionally wrong with the laptop.  Long story short..  turned out to
be a great buy at the minimum starting bid of $550 usd.  Seller even included
MS Office 2007 (value of $500).

I did however find a couple of things that disappointed me.  There was a screw
on the bottom that was sticking out a bit and was de-threaded - but it wouldn't
come out.  The screen frame had/has a little crack on the upper left inside
corner.  Those were NOT in the description. Seller later claimed he didn't
notice those things. Otherwise the screen was/is spotless - no dead pixels.
