Interesting. My first computer was an APPLE II where I learned
some 6502 ASM but my second was a grey-faced CoCo 1. I
co-authored CoBBS and was sig section leader for the telecom
sections on Compuserve's CoCo sig. I wrote the defacto 'remote'
that emulated a UART in software for those who did not buy the
RS232 pack from RS. My 6809E UART binary was capable of
duplicating the PcAnyhwere functions at only 180 bytes of code.

I've done some Intel ASM for DOS and a bit of C programming.
Even rewrote parts of OBERON to get it to work with COM4 to get
onto the internet with OBERON.

I admitted at the start that my familiarity with networking was
lacking. You are either trying to be annoying or your ego is
choking off the blood flow to your brain.

Ah but "don't often" is not _never_ now is it? How could you
_ever_ get stuck at doing something you claim is so very simple?
