Version 2002 is simply referring to Windows XP, as opposed to Windows 2000.

Microsoft plays its cards close to its chest re. 'second edition' and future
service pack plans.

Officially, the next Windows release will be what is now referred to as
'Longhorn'-- Microsoft has not announced what name it will use in marketing it.
It has not yet gone into public beta-testing and is not expected until
2006/07... if it gets significantly late, Microsoft may decide to release an XP
SP3 or a Second Edition or something. Moreover, there is the possibility of
some subset of Longhorn features being made available as updates for XP-- in
that case, I wouldn't be surprised to see an XP SP3 including those features.

Just for the record:

Windows 95 was offered with a downloadable SP1 and with a super-set of SP1
available only to OEMs as Win95A; subsequently there were Win95B C and D
versions available to OEMs but not for download.

Windows 98 later was re-released as Win98 Second Edition, but no upgrade or
download path was made available to Win98 ('First Edition') users.

Windows ME had no service packs or later editions that I'm aware of.

Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 each received a large number of downloadable
service packs... I believe Win2000 is up to SP5, for example.

Windows XP has seen the release of downloadable SP1 and SP2.

Notice that Microsoft has not been consistent in how it names its new
versions-- Win95B vs Win98 Second Edition, for example. In general, Service
Packs are downloadable and are added on to existing operating system
installations, including a bunch of security patches, but often (but not
always) including new features.

New versions labelled with letters (Win95B, etc) or 'Edition' (Win98 SE, etc)
are full operating system versions that require a full installation, and have
not been historically made available for download by current users.

Microsoft always reserves the right to do things differently in the future.
