The current popularity of Fidonet NNTP usage hasnt been long..

Jamnntpd is probably the first *best* nntp solution there has been when
contrasted to the other packages that spewed massive amounts of control lines
into the message bodies.

I am one of the First North American mail movers to have implemented jamnntpd,
in fact I am the only one at the top level to still do so. I know of no other
package that handles the job so eloquently as Jamnntpd.

Remember I am running Turqstat on the mail hubs squish message base and not on
the servers jam message base.

The author of turqstat is probably following Fidonet Technical Standards in his
implementations.

Not enough to prod an author to change his software..

You have to understand that the interface for nntp is like so:



Your reader ===> My Server ===> Jam Message Base ===> Crashmail (Tosser)
                                                      |
                                                      ========> Mail Hub

The server is your translator to and from the message base and is acting as the
user agent of sorts.

As opposed to a typical setup, like someone using a BBS, whereas the BBS is
natively reading from or writing to its message base.

I believe those running Synchronet and Winserver can do Fido via news, but I
dont think those implementations are as stable or as good as jamnntpd's.

I think you already proven that Moztbird wins hands down.. But we didnt need
turqstat or otherwise to know that,, :)

Merely because the server is putting its info there.

But I dont think it wise to ask the author of turqstat to use the tearline
authoratively for that statistic..
