Ärende: MBR lock !

I just got back from looking around in the BIOS in this HP XP box.

I guess the BIOS in a HP box is different.

I did look around all the tabs in the BIOS but no hint of anything about
the MBR was in it.

HP is just different from IBM and Toshiba I guess.   :-|

Then maybe it is a laptop thingy.

....Nope, I just looked at the BIOS in the Acer Vista laptop and it
didn't have anything as MBR, must be a IBM thingy.    ;-)

I guess I can't do any MBR Locking on either of my boxes.

When I returned from looking at the BIOS on this XP box one of the
programs that I have D/ld and allowed to start when I turn the box on
started giving me Error windows.

The program is HDDHEALTH.EXE, a monitor of the hard drives temperature.

I unchecked its option to startup when the box is turned on and
restarted the box and all is OK now.

It gave me a fright that I may had messed something up in the BIOS
because I did change one thing, I turned off the HP splash screen so I
could see the old fashioned startup screen that shows the settings in
the BIOS as the computer starts up.

I Restarted, entered the BIOS, changed the setting back as it was, and
restarted again.

I still had the HDDHEALTH.EXE Error at that time, but this was before I
changed the HDDHEALTH programs Option that I mentioned above.

Just telling You and the Others reading this message what Fun I had with
the computer tonight.

And here I am just getting ready to turn on the Windows Update thingy.

Computers are FUN!
