========================
JP>Ed, a good morning to you.

Good Morning Jean.

JP> EV> Your comment above about the Rescue CD running in RAM had me thinking.

JP> This is only an impression of the on-going process, Ed. I have no other
JP>information but what I see and presume. If one places an empty HDD into a
JP>machine and uses the TI ERU, as there is nothing on the HDD, I presume this
JP>takes place.

JP> EV> I will have to pay attention next time I use it to see if there is any
JP> EV> CD activity AFTER booting up the CD.

JP> Did you ?

Your prompting just now made me find that elusive ROUNDTUIT and use my
U'u 7.04 CD.

Yes!, I did see CD activity while using U'u.

I selected several Accessories Options, and on each of them my CD drive
LED flashed, showing that U'u needed to get something from it to be able
to do what I asked it to do.

JP> EV> I admit, I don't know much, but I'd think I could Boot from the TI CD I
JP> EV> made, just using the BIOS in the XP SP3 computer to do it.

JP> I am quite sure that you mean RAM, not BIOS. This CMOS is locked in and nob
JP>has normal access to it.

I meant BIOS/CMOS, because I figured that is all the XP box has to work
with when it is first turned on.

JP> EV> Remember when I wrote this last post to you, I did comment about I coul
JP> EV> install the XP SP2 OS using the DVD set they asked me to make of their
JP> EV> D:\ Recovery Partition.

JP> I have oranges here and you trow bananas at me, not fair. But if you were
JP>do this, you would be back to day-1 on your machine. It has saved many a day
JP>but lost all the intervening data. These Recovery DVDs or CDs are great, a
JP>once/month clone is much better, you only loose the few data since the last
JP>clone.

But after returning to Day-1, then I would be able to shut the box down,
install the Drivers the USB/FIREWALL External HD needed and then
Shut Down again and boot using the TI Restore Disk to Restore my latest
TI Backup, then I would be current.

I may have over simpleified the procedure, but you get my drift.

JP> The F-86 would go quite bit faster than your quoted 200 mph. This
JP>was landing speed, it would cruise at 660 kts, at altitude, this would be 1.
JP>Mach. To answer your query, there was no Morse key in the cockpit. I had
JP>reached 22 WPM on my shack key, not having done Morse in the last 6-7 years,
JP>would be close to starting all over again.

I only used the figure 200 MPH because I was sure the F-86 Could Fly at
that speed.

I was sure that the airplane could fly at the Speed Of Sound, but I
didn't want to use the figure 600 MPH in my previous message, I just
used a conservative speed figure that I was sure that the F-86 Sabre Jet
would be able to fly at.

Thanks for supplying me with more exact specifications.

I haven't touched a Straight Key or Vibroplex Bug in many years, as you,
but I regularly, while driving, look at the Letters on the License
Plates on the automobiles in front of me OR those who pass me by over in
the Left Lane, and Silently in my head Sound Off the Letters on
those Plates in Morse Code.

Around these parts, the License Plates mostly have three Numbers and
three Letters, something like, ###XXX OR XXX###.

Say the three letters on the Plate are DZM.

In my head I think, Dah dit dit Dah dah dit dit Dah dah

-.. --.. -- ;-)

Yeah!, Ed's Head is Really Weird.

If you didn't think that before now, I'm sure you and the others reading
this message Do Now. ;-)

But I think if ever I worked CW (Morse Code) on Amateur Radio again I
should be up to par.

I think I'm still comfortable at about the 25 Word Per Minute (WPM)
speed.

I'm not trying to Best You, I graduated from U. S. Navy Radioman School
in Norfolk, Virginia in 1960 at the 28 WPM Receiving level.
