it is likely that you won't find any schools or churches to take them,
either...

they would make excellent firewall machines... either with two NICs or a modem
(hardware driven!) and a NIC with coyote linux... coyote runs from a floppy and
resides totally in memory... no HD or CD necessary... oh, and a plain as basic
as you can get monitor and video card, too... no graphics needed! i've amber
and green TTL monitors that i use on them when i have to do stuff on them
locally...

another option is like what tom walker does... fix'em up with what's needed and
donate them to older folk who don't have one at all... at least they could do
email, browser the web and/or just write letters and the basics ;)

i don't think they've enough oomph in them to be beauwolf cluster nodes O:)
