How did you think it was done? We scrounge as much information as we can, and
apply it. If it doesn't work, we try to find more relevant information and see
if that gets us better results.

I tend to find the "Sorry, we can't determine your problem." troubleshooter
screen too often. There's been some real illumination when wading through the
Linux/GNU docs but my, is it voluminous.

You get your feet dirty. You discover stuff that the average user will never
know. No, we will likely neither be certified with anything in the PC realm,
but we grind away at it. Guys like Holger and Dan (I missed mentioning them by
name last time, and I KNOW there are many others.) that can nudge us in the
right direction here and there. I can't begin to thank a slew of locals that
clued me into a heap of stuff when I was beginning. I consider it a great
fortune that I found Fido then - before I-net went public - and it is my honour
and responsibility to impart that knowledge as accurately as I can muster. You
are doing the same with the circle of support you are in charge of.

Humility might be the defining Canadian characterisation, but you are providing
a service to others! <Hoots, indeed!!!!>
