No, that's really not a wiki entry.  That's my Wikipedia user page; I used my
call sign as my account name on there.

It can be random or planned; all depends on how you do things.  I prefer to
dial up and down the bands and then try to talk to DX ("distance"; short for
anyone out of your immediate area basically).  I talked to a ham in Hungary
last night just by dialing around.  That method's also called "hunt and
pounce".

I'd love to work (talk to) some of these hams in here on 20 meters one of these
days, like Holger.  I've talked up to Northern Sweden and deep into Russia so I
know my little signal will get out Holger's way...just all depends on
propagation at the particular time I try. :)

There's more to do than just talk over the radio. :)

I volunteered at WSIU-FM (http://www.wsiu.org) in Carbondale, Illinois, when I
lived there about ten years ago.  I really miss being able to volunteer to run
the station.  I'd do it on Sunday afternoons.
