Alan,

I don't know if this reply from You is from the message I sent giving
the URL of the Registry Dectective 2010 popup Or Not.

I haven't read any BBS messages for a while this past week, so sorry for
the late reply.

When I got to my brothers house I found out I was correct about the
popups name that I have typed in my previous messages.

I just looked at a copy of my outgoing message of 9-23-2010 and noticed
the URL the pop up that uses the name "Registry Dectective 2010" is
from, is registrydefender.com .

I still haven't tried the URL and I ain't going to try it either.  ;-)

Anyway registrydefender.com is the URL putting out the Malware that
"WAS" on my Brother Windows 7 computer.

My Brothers 6 months Free Trial of Nortons Security software expired and
he continued using the NEW computer without any security software.

He had read that the Cable company ISP he had his broadband account with
had security software available for free, He just didn't know how to
get it from them.

I Updated the definitions before I started the Scan last week.

Also I looked at the softwards settings and it is set to get updated
definitions every day.

I haven't called him or heard from him since last week, but I will try
Saturday to ask him if he has any questions about the security software
from CA he has installed on his computer is doing for him.

Probably the Computer Store he bought the Used Dell XP computer from had
already installed AVG and other anti malware software on the computer
and my brother didn't even know it was there or what it was doing for
him.

I'm pretty sure he won't click on another popup that advises him that
his computer needs to be repaired "Right Now", By THEM.

I hope not.
