Ärende: MS DOS.

Exit is a 'DOS Command' isn't it?

I suppose if Microsoft has dropped the MEM command sooner or later they
will CHANGE Cut CTRL-x, Copy CTRL-c and Paste CTRL-v to something
different just to suit their whim for changing what works.

BTW, try this:

At a CMD prompt type TREE and while the list is running press
CTRL-c

That (CTRL-c) is the Break command and should stop the listing from
running to completion.

Did it 'Break' (Stop) the TREE command from running all the way to the
end?

I just tried it and it works for me here on XP.

Another idea, if You'd type either

Help tree           or           tree/?

the screen should show You the Optional Switches that You could use with
the tree command or any of the commands in the W7 help listing.

Here's another one for You to try:

After typing TREE try using the 'pipe' with MORE, as in:

tree | more

That will show just a screen full at a time.

Pressing the Enter Key will show just one more line to the listing on
the screen.

Pressing the Space Bar will toggle the listing to the next screen full
section.

And of course, typing CTRL-c will Stop the Tree function and return You
to a CMD Prompt where You can type 'exit' to get back to the Graphical
Users Interface (GUI).

I find things are so much easier using DOS Commands for much of what I
do with my computer.
